Middle School Intramurals
2026-2027

In order to continually build and strengthen students’ connection to DAMS, we offer several after-school intramurals. Our intramurals typically meet each week for a trimester. These intramural offerings have various start dates, so please make note of the dates as they are listed. End date(s) will be communicated to your child by the instructor.

Starting Monday, September 14th,

• Volleyball- Intramural volleyball provides students with an opportunity to participate in a fun, competitive, and team-oriented activity. Students will develop their volleyball skills, teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship while competing in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. No experience necessary. Please wear athletic clothes and sneakers.

• Mathcounts-Get ready to solve puzzles, tackle brainteasers, and team up with friends who love a good mental challenge as much as you do! MATHCOUNTS Club makes problem-solving into a collaborative sport, where you'll explore math concepts beyond standard classroom formulas. During club, you will be working individually and in small groups to work through complex math problems, with and without a calculator.

• 7th Grade Weightlifting- 7th grade students will use machines, free-weights, and bikes.Previous experience with machines and lifting helpful but not required. Please come dressed in appropriate attire. 

• Board Games-Board Games intramural provides students with a fun, screen-free space to socialize, unwind, and stretch their minds after the school day ends. Participants will be able to explore a wide variety of classic board games, modern strategy games, and quick-thinking card games. 

Starting Tuesday, September 15th: 

• 8th Grade Weightlifting- 8th grade students will use machines, free-weights, and bikes.Previous experience with machines and lifting helpful but not required. Please come dressed in appropriate attire. 

• Ping Pong- Our after-school Ping Pong Intramural Program offers students a fun, high-energy way to unwind, stay active, and build core athletic skills after the bell rings. Designed for all experience levels—from complete beginners to seasoned players—this program focuses on hand-eye coordination, quick decision-making, and friendly competition in a supportive, fully supervised environment. 

Starting Wednesday, September 16th:

• Dungeons and Dragons (D&D)-Our after-school Dungeons & Dragons Intramural Club offers students an engaging, collaborative space to unleash their creativity and build essential social skills. Guided in a supportive, fully supervised environment, participants work together to embark on epic adventures, solve complex puzzles, and tell interactive stories in a world powered entirely by teamwork and imagination. 

• Chinese Language and Culture Club (CLCC)- This is the perfect way for students to explore Mandarin language Chinese traditions and Chinese wonders in an engaging no-pressure environment. They will learn basic conversational skills through games and songs, character-writing through hands-on activities including the art of Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting. No prior experience with the language is needed—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm to discover a whole new culture!

• Handheld Games-Grab your favorite handheld system—whether it’s a Switch, DS, or Game Boy—and join us for the ultimate laid-back gaming hangout after school! It’s a time to link up with friends for multiplayer matches, share gaming tips, or just kick back and play your favorite solo titles together. No tournament pressure or crazy rules here—just bring your device, charge it up, and come hang out with fellow gamers!

• Lego Club-Ready to build, create, and have some fun with your friends? Come hang out and let your imagination run wild with LEGO!

Choose Your Adventure:

• Bring Your Own LEGO: Bring a set from home, build it, and take it home with you when you're finished!

• Build One of Our Sets: Pick from the LEGO sets we have available and build it with a friend. Just remember—our sets need to be taken apart when you're finished so someone else can enjoy them!

• Become a LEGO Creator: Prefer to make your own masterpiece? We have lots of loose LEGO pieces ready for you to design, invent, and build whatever your imagination can dream up!

Grab your friends, pick a pile of bricks, and get building! Whether you're following instructions or creating something completely original, it's going to be a great time of building, laughing, creating, and showing off your LEGO skills! The only limit is your imagination!

• Ultimate Frisbee-Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport where players pass a flying disc to score points in the opposing end zone. Students can learn basic throwing, catching, and game strategies, then participate in fun scrimmages; no prior experience is required, and students should bring athletic clothing, water, and comfortable sneakers.

Please note:

→There are limited spaces for most of the intramurals, so please only sign up for intramurals your student is committing to attend. 

→If an intramural is already full, it will not show up as an option on the permission form. 

→Students will not be allowed to participate if we do not have a permission slip on file. Click Here to complete the online permission slip for intramural offerings. Sign-ups will close on Friday, September 11th at 3pm.

Intramurals are supervised by district employees. Intramural sponsors or supervisors are middle school staff members. All activities are held after school from 3:05 - 4:15 p.m. Students should be picked up at 4:15 p.m. at the front of the main entrance or at the auditorium entrance.
