The seminar classes are scheduled during the academic periods. Each team also has opportunities to come together for lunch sessions during each cycle. Wildcat periods are open for students to sign-out and report from their homerooms.

In addition to my role as gifted support & services I teach a unified arts class on creative thinking & problem solving. This is two days per cycle and gives me the opportunity to meet all of our 7th graders.

Fall Happenings:
Students have been invited to join the following academic challenges; Scholastic Writing & Art, Science Fair, C++ Coding, and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America).  We are creative in adapting a schedule to build time for our busy students.

Our first unit of study centers on Biomimicry. This concept is one used in engineering. Considering that nature must perfect itself to survive, engineers and scientists have mimicked it to find solutions for our real-world problems.

Students' first mini-challenge is "Dancing Paper". Using the website, students must support a design made of paper only that will "dance" through the air down one of our stairwells. The paper may only have folds and cuts and must free-fall. Ideas from the plant kingdom seem to be popular. Students are finding that seed dispersal and petal arrangement have some answers.
