Dr. Kevin Molin
Principal
Dr. Molin is excited to serve the students, families, and staff of our school as the building principal. With more than 30 years of experience in education, he is committed to creating a positive learning environment where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from York College of Pennsylvania, a Master's degree in School Administration from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University.
He began his career as a 7th/8th Grade Social Studies teacher while also coaching football and track. Throughout his administrative career, Dr. Molin has served as Assistant Principal at Dallastown Area High School, Principal of Susquehannock High School, and most recently as Principal of York Township Elementary School. In an effort to spend more time with students, Dr. Molin taught one section of 9th Grade US History and worked with the Unified Track team while serving as the Principal of Susquehannock High School.
Dr. Molin believes that middle school is a pivotal time in a student's life. It is a place where students grow academically, build confidence, discover new interests, and develop the skills needed for future success. He is passionate about fostering a school culture that emphasizes strong relationships, high expectations, curiosity, resilience, and opportunities for every student to thrive.
Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, visiting historical sites, and watching sporting events. He looks forward to partnering with students, families, and the community to make the middle school years a rewarding and memorable experience for all of our students.
Ms. Alissa Kaltreider
Assistant Principal
Ms. Kaltreider is the Assistant Principal at Dallastown Area Middle School. She attended Millersville University where she was a Resident Assistant and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher but quickly realized that she really wanted to teach older students. She transferred to middle school, where she was a 7th grade math teacher for 10 years followed by 3 years as a 5th grade math teacher.
During her teaching career, Ms. Kaltreider attended Penn State University where she earned a master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum and received her Principal certification. She later returned to Penn State as an adjunct instructor. Ms. Kaltreider’s first administrative position was as High School Assistant Principal at Dover Area High School. She loved being an AP, but really missed the middle school students, which led her to DAMS.
Ms. Kaltreider has two dogs, Winnie and Scarlett, and a small flock of chickens. She enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, geocaching, doing craft projects, games and puzzles (especially escape rooms), cooking, and baking.
Mr. Scott Mahorney
Dean of Students
Mr. Mahorney has dedicated almost 30 years to the Dallastown Area School District, serving in various roles including Learning Support Teacher, Strive Teacher, and currently as Dean of Students at Dallastown Area Middle School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education from Eastern Kentucky University, where he also played football. Mr. Mahorney moved from Kentucky to Pennsylvania in 1991. He continued his education with graduate studies at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) and Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of school, Mr. Mahorney enjoys spending quality time with his children, two Yorkies, Kirby and Piper, and his good friends. His hobbies included camping, boating, fishing, and attending sporting events during weekends and the summer.
Mr. Mahorney has spent his entire teaching career at Dallastown Area Middle School where he has met some amazing teachers and students. He can't imagine being anywhere else but DAMS!
