How can I help my child?

  1. Be sure your child is completing daily math assignments.
  2. Check that your child is doing his/her homework neatly.
  3. Encourage your child to set high standards for his/her work.
  4. If your child needs help, talk to his/her math teacher and/or guidance counselor.
  5. Monitor your child's progress via tests, quizzes, gradesheets, midterms, and report cards.
  6. Reinforce basic mental math facts.
  7. Show your child where you use math in everyday life.
* Middle school students may still need parental supervision. The quality of daily practice is reflected in overall performance.
