Welcome to the Voyager Team!

Dear students, parents, and guardians joining the Voyager team:

We’d like to officially welcome you to 8th grade!  It is a very exciting time for all of us, and we look forward to starting this year with you.  We have some information we would like to share with you as we, together, prepare for the 2022-2023 school year.  You have been assigned to the Voyager team.

Suggested School Supplies

The easiest way to ensure a successful year is to be prepared for your 8th grade classes! In order to come to school prepared and organized, our team suggests that you have the following materials at the start of school:

❏     1 - binder for Math                                                             

❏     1 - binder for English, Science, History                             

❏     Lined notebook paper                                                        

❏     Dividers to stay organized                                                 

❏     PENCILS

❏     PENS

❏     Scientific calculator

❏     SSR book

❏     Earbuds

In addition to this letter, please review the other sections of this website as posted on the left hand side which will provide useful information such as:

●   Contact information for the team teachers

●   The Voyager Team Handbook which includes our Codes of Conduct, general 

     information, computer and personal device policies, and team expectations

●   Homework link which lists short-term and long-term assignments for each class

We will be discussing this information the first day of school and during Meet the Team Night. If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to address them with the team teachers whether by phone, e-mail, or at Meet the Team Night on Tuesday, September 6th.

Again we would like to welcome you to the Voyager Team, and we look forward to working with you and your family this year. The first day of school is Thursday, August 25th! Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!

Upcoming Important Dates 

Meet the Teachers Night - 8th grade

When: Tuesday, September 6th, from 5:30 to 8:00pm

Description:  Meet the Teacher Night is a great way to begin the school year and gives families the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers.   After a brief video introduction by our administration and other key personnel, Voyager parents and students will have the opportunity to walk through the schedule of a typical school day.  The evening should be an informative start to the new school year.  It’s also a great time to buy a new gym uniform, ask questions, or stop by the library. 

Parent-Teacher Conferences

As conference time approaches, parents will receive detailed information regarding the sign-up process.  In the meantime, you may mark the following dates and times on your calendar:

October 5th  5:30pm - 8:30pm

October 6th    1:00pm - 8:30pm

January 17th 1:00pm - 8:30 pm
April 6th 1:00pm - 8:30pm
