The American History curriculum includes the study of our country from Native Americans to Civil War and Reconstruction. Specific topic areas include Colonial America, Crisis in the Colonies, the Revolutionary War, the Constitution and Government, Presidents, the War of 1812, New Movements in America, Westward Expansion, Sectionalism, the Civil War, and Reconstruction.
To facilitate our study of American History, we will be using Chromebooks on a daily basis. Please make sure your Chromebook is FULLY charged before coming to class. Textbooks will be available upon request only. Notes and handouts will be an ongoing part of class along with group activities, student presentations, projects, and reading and writing activities as permitted by social distancing guidelines.
Students need to be prepared for class every day. Therefore, please bring the following materials with you on a daily basis.
- American History binder with paper
- Charged Chromebook
- Pencil, pen, and highlighter
- Colored pencils and/or markers
- Earbuds/Headphones
- Homework assignments when given
- Reading book
Students will be assessed on a regular basis. Parents and students may view assignments/assessments using the Voyager homework link and Google classroom. Grades will be posted on Skyward. Assessments take various forms including:

- Presentations
- Projects/Research Paper
- Reading and Writing Activities
- Quizzes and Tests
