What to expect in Earth Science:
This year we'll be learning how our Earth "works." We'll break the concepts down into four catagories: IN the Earth, ON the Earth, ABOVE the Earth, and BEYOND the Earth. We'll begin the year studying atoms the way matter combines to form the materials which make the Earth, and then head off on an adventure to the interior of our planet.
General Resources:
Looking for assignments? If students need to work on any type of homework outside of class, that expectation will be listed on Google Classroom. Any resources students need to complete assignments will be posted on this web page or will be on the Google Classroom site.
Required Materials:
Like all wise adventurers, students on Team Synergy will need to carry some specific equipment. The successfully complete the journey of 8th grade science, the following items will need to be in class
every day:
- at least two pens or pencils
- assignment book/planner
- 2-pocket folder (We will remove papers at the end of each unit, so the number of pages will be minimal.)
- a composition book (100 pages, the kind with the marbled hard cover, and
sewn binding HOWEVER you may choose any type of cover design you like)
- Chromebook, charged and in its cover
- earbuds
- refillable water bottle
- optional: students who find them useful are encouraged to have highlighters, colored pencils, colored pens, 3x5 cards, and sticky notes among their study supplies, but these items are not required for class

I am always available to help students during morning homeroom and afternoon homeroom (unless I am in a meeting), and with advance planning am also available before school, after school, and at lunch. Students can always email me with questions.
