In existence since 1966, the President's Challenge assists, informs, and inspires people on their journey to be active and adopt a healthier lifestyle through awards and recognition programs including: The Physical Fitness Test. This is a 5-item test designed to measure the overall fitness of youth ages 6-17.

The Middle School's Health and Physical Education Department will administer this test during the fall semester to identify students who display positive health and fitness habits. These students will earn recognition from the President of the United States for their outstanding level of fitness and activity.

The program is made up of a 5-item test battery. The test battery consists of curl-ups, pull-ups, one mile walk/run, shuttle run, and the v-sit flexibility reach. Boys and girls who score at or above the 85th percentile on all 5 items of the fitness test are eligible to receive the award.
In addition to getting a certificate and badge, the students will also receive a t-shirt. The shirts may be swapped out and used as their uniform shirt for class. Congratulations to the students who have earned this award!
